“A Woman from Thera in the New Era” reflects the journey of women in ancients times and in modern society, exploring themes of initiation, spirituality, pain, transformation, and self acceptance. The figure of this woman highlights the importance of trusting our intuition, embracing change and finding inner peace. The ceramic sculpture incorporates elements of the frescoes of ancient Thera, such as the shaven head, accessories, and division of zones, to represent different traumas and ultimately lead to redemption. The artwork also addresses the pain that women encounter through the imposition of societal norms including harassment, the demonisation of mental disorder or instrumentalisation of physical diseases. The message on the skirt emphasises on the need to rise again from the darkness and to reclaim our power. The artwork celebrates the strength and divinity of every femininity, encouraging self-care and the cultivation of the soul.
